Founded in 1970 at Hempfield United Methodist Church, Noah’s Ark Preschool has been a cornerstone of our local community, dedicated to nurturing and educating young children for over five decades.
The first five years of life are a critical period for growth and development, with the most significant brain changes and learning taking place during this time. Research shows that children absorb more knowledge in their early years than at any other stage of life. These formative years shape cognitive, social, and linguistic abilities, laying the foundation for academic and professional success.
High-quality preschool programs provide children with a vital head start. By the time they reach kindergarten, children can gain a strong grasp of foundational skills such as math, art, handwriting, literacy, and more. This early boost fosters curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
At Noah’s Ark Preschool, we prioritize the growth and development of every child who joins our program. Our mission is to inspire a love of learning while encouraging children to explore and appreciate God’s world. Our curriculum focuses on the whole child, with activities designed to support growth in social, emotional, spiritual, physical, language, and cognitive development.
We also value family engagement and host events throughout the year to foster community and connection. Highlights include an evening at Amos Herr Dream Park, a Fall Festival, and a Movie Night at the preschool. Together, we strive to help children reach their full potential and thrive in God’s great world.
Each spring, our preschoolers present a lively evening program in the church sanctuary, featuring a unique theme with songs and performances. This cherished event is a highlight of the year for our children and their families. In May, we celebrate our graduates with a special evening ceremony as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
