Noah’s Ark Preschool started in 1970 at Hempfield United Methodist Church. It has been going strong and serving children and families in our community ever since.
The most rapid brain changes and developments happen in the first five years of life. During no other time will our bodies or our minds change as much or be able to take in as much learning. In fact, humans learn more in the first five years than from the rest of our years combined!
Cutting-edge research shows how much the early years of a child’s education and development matter. A child’s first five years of life will shape their cognitive, social, and linguistic capabilities, which contributes to their academic and professional success for the rest of their life.
Preschool Programs give children a head start. By the time they’re ready for kindergarten, they can already have a good understanding of basics like math, art, handwriting, the alphabet, reading, and more. Giving them that extra educational boost will help develop their mind and teach them to push their understanding.
At Noah’s Ark Preschool, we value each child that enters our program. We want each child to develop a love of learning by exploring God’s World around us. We focus on the whole child and present activities that promote learning and developing skills in the areas of social, emotional, spiritual, physical, language and cognitive.
Our PTO plans family events throughout the year with opportunities for our preschool families to enjoy an evening together. Events include an evening at the Amos Herr Dream Park, a Fall Festival and a Movie Night at the preschool. We schedule monthly family night out fundraiser dinners and events. Our goal is to partner with families to help our children reach their full potential and thrive in God’s Great World.
In the Spring our preschool classes present a lively spring program in the sanctuary. Each program has a unique theme. The children sing and perform on the stage. This is a highlight of the school year for our children and families. In May we send off our Noah’s Ark Preschool Graduates with a special graduation ceremony in the evening.
We are happy to show anyone interested in Noah’s Ark Preschool around our classrooms and facilities. Please call the Preschool Office to schedule a tour.
